A few disturbing headlines in the news these past few weeks I want to share my thoughts on:
1) The show of shame at the River State House of Assembly
2) Nigeria rated the 8th most corrupt country in the world
3) Nigeria has spent over $20billion on power reforms with little or no results
4) Nigerian President was received in China by the Asst. Foreign Minister. He didn't see their president until after 24 hours
5) President Obama visited Africa & snubbed the most populous black nation Nigeria!
6) Britain to cut aids to Nigeria cos of anti-gay laws
A quick look at the list shows that there's a lot to be done to put Nigeria back where it rightly belongs. We may be quick to apportion blame & point fingers at the leadership of this country but we forget to admit that we created these people. We cannot claim not to take sides in all these. There's no middle ground. You are either supporting the decadence or fighting it. Egyptians took a stand and acted upon it. When will Nigerians rise up and take a stand?
I am not calling for a physical revolution with bloodshed. I am calling for a MENTAL & SPIRITUAL revolution to bring this country out of the mess we have collectively created!
Husbands and Wives when will you start having the time for yourselves & kids to raise your kids & instill proper values in them? We chase after money to make ends meet only for the centre to no longer hold.
Fellow citizens when will we start doing things right & in order? Obeying traffic laws & lights, obeying queues, following due process, watching out for each other, dropping tribalism and embracing patriotism. Government can't do these for us. We must start restructuring our government by restructuring our individual lives.
Nigeria will be great again. Will you be part of the problem or solution? You must choose a side. Choose wisely!
God bless you. Have a fun-filled weekend({})
